The center stand spring (also known as the "stand spring") on a moped is important because it ensures that the center stand automatically flips back up and stays securely in place while riding. Without this spring, the center stand can droop, which is dangerous because it could touch the road or make the moped unstable. In short, the spring keeps the center stand safe and functional.
