It connects the carburetor (or intake) to the cylinder head, allowing the air-fuel mixture from the carburetor to enter the combustion chamber.

It ensures an even and stable airflow, which is important for a good fuel ratio and engine performance.

The shape and length of the manifold affect throttle response and engine speed range: a short manifold can result in faster throttle response and better performance at higher rpm, while a longer manifold is better for more torque at low rpm.

It must seal properly (with rubber and gaskets) to prevent leaks; air leakage between the manifold and carburetor can disrupt engine settings.
