Roller set with a kink → The track (where the rollers move) has a slight angle or kink. This makes the variator more responsive and maintains a slightly higher RPM during acceleration—good for sporty performance.
Roller set without a kink → The track is smooth and consistent, resulting in smoother shifting and more stable RPMs—good for comfort and consistent acceleration.
👉 So: with a kink = sharper acceleration, without a kink = smoother shifting.
